You shouldn't buy larger size skates for youngsters to grow into as it may hinder their ability of learning to skate and could also hurt their feet and ankles.  Skate & shoe sizes fit differently.  Generally skates fit 1½ size larger than same size shoes.  Remember to try on your hockey skates with the type of sock you will be wearing in them.
